SES America Inc. (in partnership with KAPSCH) successfully completes commissioning of its embedded M5000 Dynamic Message Signs for use in Virginia DOT's Truck Parking Availability System (TPAS) project - the first ever in the state.
M5000 Embedded DMS on I-66, near Port Royal, VA
The embedded amber DMS are mounted to static signage and is placed along one of the busiest corridors in the U.S - Interstate-66, near Port Royal in Northern Virginia. The signs will be used to display truck parking availability in rest areas and alert truck drivers on ability to find a safe location to park and rest. If successful, this pilot project could lead to a larger Dynamic Message Sign deployment in Virginia.
SESA currently holds the contracts to manufacture and deliver TPAS signage for the Florida Department of Transportation, Virginia Department of Transportation, Indiana Department of Transportation and Kansas Department of Transportation. Manufacturing will be completed this summer 2018, with deployments expected later this year.
